Hard Mattress

My new mattress is too hard. Our old mattress suited me fine, but DH wanted something to help him sleep better. The new mattress suits him fine, but unfortunately I have a smashed shoulder and I found it much too hard. (Salesman too pushy, very confident we needed at least semi-firm, lay on various beds... who knows after 5 minutes or less?).

I think we need a topper. What would you recommend?

Placemarking as my son is complaining his mattress is too hard

We have a very nice feather and down topper from John Lewis.

I think it was an earlier incarnation of this:

Ours has the down section stitched to the base layer, so that’s not removable.

I had this problem but I got a three inch memory foam topper from amazon which worked a treat
Loved it so much I then got them for the rest of the beds in the house!

We have a double layered goose down and feather topper, it's absolute bliss to sleep on. I just got it off eBay I think. Much better than memory foam in my opinion.

I've got this for our spare room (or my insomnia room!) bed and I was pleasantly surprised how much difference it made for a relatively cheap topper

Can't manage a link but Soak & Sleep's topper as below solved a similar problem with a brand-new mattress that was too hard.
