Crusty limescale bottom of shower door - any solutions?

Cyclewidow46 · 21/02/2018 15:58

I've moved into a rental property in a hard water area and have crusty hard limescale deposits on the bottom of the shower door.

Viakal, cilit-bang and others just don't get rid of it Sad
Other than getting out a chisel and chipping it off can anybody suggest anything please?

It looks horrible Sad

Have you tried neat white vinegar? You might want to leave it on for a while then rinse off.

Vinegar or Bar Keeper's Friend.
Or if you can bear the smell, WD40

White vinegar works best, and leave it on as long as you can bear the smell!

HG professional limescale remover works miracles

Hg do a x3 scale away that's amazing!

Thanks everyone!

I've just got back from Asda and picked up a Viakal product that looks like a thick gel exactly for crusty deposits! Never seen it before so thought I'd try it.

If this doesn't work I'll definitely try the white vinegar and also Wd40 (I love the smell!)

Bar keepers friend didn't work unfortunately but the taps were lovely and shiney Smile

Thanks again for your suggestions.

There is another gel you might want to try if the viakal doesn't work... It comes in a small yellow tub with a brush in the lid and is called 'gel kilrock'. You paint the gel onto the scale with the little applicator and leave it to fizz away. Might need a couple of applications for tough thick scale but has never failed me!

Killrock.

It's something I've just discovered and it's wonderful (if smelly) stuff
