Trivial subject - storage of DD's hair clips

DD is nearly 3 with slow growing wavy hair which has only ever been trimmed and has not had a fringe cut in. So she needs something to keep her hair of her face, the least of which is just a clip pinning it to one side. Sometimes she has a pony tail or bunches or a headband.

However every time I come to do a pony tail or bunches and look for a matching pair of clips, I can never find a pair in her little box. And as for trying to find a particular colour..... Is there a better way of storing them? Has anyone got a fantastic solution? Part of the problem obviously is that she keeps loosing odd ones.

Only buy one type of clip.

or buy shed loads. never only buy two and expect to see them in the same place and at the same time again

Well she has loads but I am always rooting around for ages for a matching pair.

Hang up a piece of ribbon (hanging vertically)on her wall and clip the hairslides onto that. hth.

I use one of these from Ikea in bright pink - a perfect solution for hair bands and clips. You can just make out in the picture that inside it divided into 8 compartments (you can remove some of the plastic walls to increase the size of the compartments to suit) Great for school to keep boring school bands and Kirby grips separate from pretty coloured bands and clips.

... + it's a bargain price at £2.99

Gosh, I love IKEA

Thanks everyone. I have moved them into her jewellry box which has 4 compartments for the time being until I sort something and it is already better.

You could try using one of those clear plastic weaning cube trays (without a lid)?
Easy to see what is in there and lots of little compartments to separate the different types.
Bl Marvellous/Jo Jo Maman etc sell them...

Being cheap, Ferrarro rocher boxes are quite good as you can see what's in them even if you can't pair them up. My dd has 1000s of hair accessories but I still usually end up taking a hairband off my wrist or my own hair to tie her hair back .
