Removing Veet wax from bedsheets

I somehow got veet strip wax attached to my bedsheets (must have lost a strip while undertaking complex manouvres!). How do I remove it? I have googled wax but it mainly refers to candle or hot wax - I'm not sure if ironing will melt strip wax off or just inbed it further? HELP

I don't know, but this is what i would do. Remove sheet from the bed. Remove strip from the sheet.
Put sheet on a heatproof board with the waxy side up. Put kitchen paper 2-3 sheets thick over the wax then brown paper on to.
Go over and over with hot iron.
Repeat with fresh kitchen paper.
Wash sheet.

The method mike posted above is what I have used for candle wax on clothes.

You know in wax packs, you get those wipes to remove excess wax from your skin. I’d perhaps try to scrub sheet with those and then wash.

Put sheet in freezer for half an hour and then pick the wax off.

I would soak the sheet before washing it, in warm water with Stardrops or laundry soap rubbed into any residue.

Yes to freezing and scraping before ironing.

The brown paper would go on top not on to. If you have no brown paper, I'd use a couple of shhets of normal/news paper and greaseproof.

Use baby oil on kitchen roll to dissolve the wax - that's basically what's on the wipes you get in wax strip packs, then put neat washing up liquid on the oil and wash. It is not the same as candle wax!

I'm with wowfudge - mike's method will stick the paper to the sheets!

MikeUniformMike · 31/01/2018 11:18

Good job I don't wax then. Thanks.

MessySurfaces · 31/01/2018 13:27

It's grim stuff mike, you are as well keeping away from it!

I have tried waxing and sugaring. Liked the results but not the process.
Sugaring will dissolve in water, I think.
Only once did I try hair removing cream.

THank you - I just washed them without doing anything, and of course wax still there. I shall report back when I've tried other methods. I'm so busy (such a minger) this will prob be a few days!
