Faded pushchair - could I colour it in with a Sharpie?

Bought a pram off gumtree, all good, but the covers, particularly hoods have faded from black to that sort of brown colour. More obvious now I’ve washed them.
I think if I try to dye them, it’ll run & I’ll get grey children, do you think a sharpie would work? Or is there a huge flaw I’ve overlooked?

I’ve used black dye before on a pushchairir hood, that you paint on and doesn’t come off on your children’s clothes, although they are tiny pots so you need a few of them.

Noooo. seriously, no. You wouldn't want your child sat on something that was covered in sharpie, the stuff they'd be breathing in would be horrible. If you try a safe dye and it doesn't work, you've lost nothing. Hoods fade over time, it's no big deal

Really? I’d have thought any fumes would be away almost as soon as it was on, also being outside. Okay though, point taken, I will look for some paint onable dye, which I didn’t know was a thing.
I know they do fade, I’m not sure why I find it so irritating tbh.
And I still have to get the covers back on the frame now they’ve been washed.

How about this?

Haven't used it myself but looks good.

Oo, thanks, they have a waterproof version too.
