Mine have only had one layer of white paint on them 4 years ago. I am planning to do my lounge up very soon and these will need doing.....will i really need to sand them down before putting a new layer of white paint on like DP says??? or is he just being a perfectionist and probably hoping if he makes it sound terrible enough i will put the whole decorating thing off for another year??

anyone??

Our builders said you can do a wash over with emulsion and then paint over it. Mind you, the paint job weren't that good after

I'd just stick another coat of paint on. I'm a bodger though.

In 25 years of doing my own, I have never sanded down anything, just paint over! I hate gloss and use satinwood, looks much better and you dont notice any imperfections.
