Books about forming good habits

I'm looking for recommendations. I'm terribly disorganised, and I feel like I need a kick up the backside to get me into good routines/habits with sleep, housework, admin and the kids. Are there any books that people would recommend with tips/encouragement to get started? I realise it's a bit pathetic to be asking for a book instead of just getting on with it!

Recommendations for books on decluttering and tidying also welcome! This is for my Kindle by the way, so definitely not looking for handouts! Smile

I'm sorry - nothing I know of that deals with all of these.
I like Marie Kondo (declutternig - but extreme) and Gretchen Rubin's happiness books for making me think.
Suggest you either read threads here - there are loads of good tips! Or browse Amazon if you don't get other more helpful replies.

Good,luck!

Marie Kondo Spark Joy and I just bought a book about happiness after a recommendation on here. A blue on with a yellow smiley face. Think it is How to be Happy.

There's a Flylady thread on here, the book isn't available on Kindle IIRC.

Kondo - I love the book but it doesn't make me actually do it! The book that inspired Kondo about decluttering is also available on Kindle and is V cheap (the art of discarding).

If you want a new year new start, A Bowlful of Lemons has an annual organisation kick starting soon (check the website for last year's series for an idea of what they do, book quite cheap on Kindle ATM).

Apartment Therapy used to do a New Year series as well, not sure if they are doing it this year.

Also, have a look at Crystal Paine for general pulling-yourself-together stuff.

Good luck - I love a fresh start at new year! It's just a matter of finding something that inspires you, and not expecting just one person/system to come up with all the answers, for me. Pick and choose the bits that speak to you.

Flylady has a lot of good ideas. I recently got a book called How to Manage your Home without Losing your mind. Which is quite basic about habits which tidy people just do automatically but I found it useful. Also there's a lot of videos on YouTube you might find helpful. How Jen does it is my favourite. Even if it just reminds me why her house is lovely and mine often is untidy. Warning she could be irritating. Grin

That's all really helpful, thank you. I've also signed up to the January Cure after reading the thread on here, so looking forward to that!

Ok, I've bought How to Manage Your Home, The Art of Discarding, and Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin. That's my January reading sorted! Thanks everyone 😊
