spilt milk - getting rid of the smell

My friend's DD spilt some milk in the back of their car weeks ago. My friend has taken out the back row of seats and had it all professionally cleaned but it still smells quite awful.

Any tips please that i can pass on to her?

TIA

Leave a bowl of white vinegar overnight in the car. It works wonders on sick smells and soured milk ....just don't spill the vinegar otherwise that will be your next problem.

I use a solution of bicarbonate of soda which neutralises the smell.

Sodium bicarb is fab! It worked when dd1 had bad tummy bug and sicked milk all over the carpet - no wonder carpet cleaner could cope but the bicarb got it out.

If nowt else works - leave it - we did the same several years ago and once decomposed the smell disappears.

Febreze (not sure of spelling)?

Leave B.carb soda sprinkled over night and hoover up.

trouble is it must have gone under the back seats and they have now been put back in (they had them out for a couple of weeks and cleaned them and the inside of the car very well).
So, it's really just the odour that they can work on now. I think my friend may be getting a bit immune to it but I put her DD in the car for her today and it made me heave.
I spoke to her earlier on and she's going to try the white vinegar first.
Thanks again for all the replies.
