are they as good as the roomba- i was slighlty sceptical when i bought my first roomba but have since also bought one for upstairs!
I love my gadgets but need some positive reviews of the scooba before i buy one- also anyone know of a uk stockist?

What is a scooba? Are roombas really that good? Thinking about getting one, how long till they are full and are they any good on pet hairs?

nearlythere · 24/04/2007 09:48

ooh, my roombas are worth their weight in gold!!
the new breed (discovery series) have a big dust bucket, mine go on everyday (i have the schedulers) and gets emptied after each room. They are great for pet hairs- our house has never been so clean!
the scooba is the floor washing one, once you've got a roomba you will be singing their praises- and its a fabbo talking point for visitors!

OMG a floor washing one!! I NEED one of those, can't afford either at the moment though!! Isn't it a pain though, emptying it after each room? Does it do the job properly, you know to the edges and all that?

nearlythere · 25/04/2007 11:31

its less of a pain than doing it yourself- just a case of tipping the dust bucket over the bin and then sliding it back in.

i've just ordered my scooba so will keep you informed!!

nearlythere · 25/04/2007 11:37

is the roomba good on wood floors and tiles? It sounds fab - might get one for my birthday [how sad is that?!]

nearlythere · 25/04/2007 12:28

brilliant on hard floors and short pile carpet- if you've got long pile/sink into carpet then it might get a litle lost but mine handle carpet, tiles and laminate very well!

no carpet in this house so sounds ideal

geekgrrl · 25/04/2007 12:30

does it clean well around table legs etc?

nearlythere · 25/04/2007 12:53

not bad at all around obstacles, once or twice a week we move the furniture around so that 'roombie' can give it a proper clean!

Geekgrrl, not sad at all! If my birthday hadn't been i would be doing the same! Have to wait till Christmas i suppose, now that is SAD. Let us know what the new one is like!
