Need a dishwasher

Struggling to keep on top of everything, have a v active 9 month old son. Husband works full time and I work too.

If we had a dish washer it would save me some time and help out a lot but there isn't room in our kitchen. The only space it could go is taken up by our washing machine, which is used frequently.

Are there any obvious alternatives to a dishwasher that I'm missing which could just go on a counter top?? I think I saw that there are mini ones online but they'd need hooking up for the water to be drained wouldn't they??

you could get a table too dishwasher.
you can plumb it in together with the washer with the right parts.
any plumber can install it for you,

I think the mini ones just drain into the sink and fill from the tap

you can plumb them into the tap, but they can be plumbed in just like a full size mashine.

Could you relocate your washer? Garage maybe?

Lookingtothehighlands · 18/12/2017 07:43

You need a full size one. Can you put the washing machine somewhere else? Under the stairs? Bathroom?

Makingahome · 18/12/2017 07:44

Do you have a garage? I think here are some that fit undersink too.

We didnt have space, but when designing our new kitchen, i moved the location of the washing machine and it freed up the space. What is your layout?

My kitchen is tiny, think cupboard-cupboard with sink-washing machine, fridge, oven-small larder cupboard, plus 3 small wall cupboards.

When I save up for my new kitchen I’m going to have, dishwasher-2nd dishwasher-sink cupboard, fridge, oven-larder cupboard. 3 taller wall cupboards that go all the way to the ceiling.

I’m then going to cull all crockery, tupperware, trays, mugs etc. The things that I need but don’t use as often will go on the top shelves of wall cupboards (accessed by a fold out stool). The everyday stuff will either fill the rest of the cupboards or will stay in a dishwasher. I.e. one dishwasher will be filled up with dirty dishes and turned on, we will then use mugs etc and put them in the other dishwasher once dirty.

Probably will have signs on the outside of the dishwasher to denote which one is for dirty stuff to save confusion over which one is which.

Have no idea whether this will actually work but in my brain it will and will save me washing up - which I HATE!

We took out a cupboard in one house, culled the contents, relocated much less used items to the loft. Best decision we ever made.
