How to transport ironed shirts in car?

I’ve started taking OHs shirts to the dry cleaners for ironing as I’m not well enough to do them currently. Having never had to do this before I have no idea how I’ll get them home in the car without creasing them

I only have room for one hanger on each over the door hanger thingy. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks

Could OH possibly iron the shirts?

Wanttobreakfreeplease · 12/12/2017 17:39

I like that idea! However, he is working crazy hours at the moment on a contract so we came up with this solution to try and ease things for me and him, iykwim.

I'd get a suit bag and put them in this to keep them together or lay them flat in the boot or back seat.

If we’re going away for the weekend we hang shirts and jackets on hangers in the back of the car on the hooks above the backseats (above the doors)

Or a multiple shirt hanger though they would hang quite low.

You can buy little velvet hooks that go over the hanger and then attach the next hanger to it.

Do you have a local ironing service? They usually pick up and delivery back.

Some good ideas there thanks. I will look for a delivery service if I need to keep doing this as it would be a lot easier.
Ta everyone

Lay them in the boot but they should be individually packed so won't get creased unless you roll them up !!

I hang ironing on hangers from the headrest of one of the back seats - pull it up and hook the hangers around the metal tube. The clothes are then resting on the back of the back seats.

Our dry cleaner will fold the shirts rather than hang them if that's what you prefer, much easier to transport.
