Tassimo?

fedupandnogin · 12/12/2017 17:10

Thanks. I was actually just looking at this one as it's quite compact and not too expensive: www.johnlewis.com/tassimo-vivy-ii-coffee-machine-by-bosch-black/p3319128

Has anyone got it?

I've got that one. Love it. Easy to use and clean. You'll probably get some offers for Tassimo discounts in the box. Asda usually do 3 packs of pods for £10. We recycle all our pods via our council.

icklekid · 12/12/2017 17:57

Yes we have Tassimo and love iy

We've got that one at work. We have tried lots of different capsules and they've all been pretty mediocre, especially the ones with whitener. Better than instant but not by much. The hot chocolate is pretty unpleasant too.

NotMeNoNo · 12/12/2017 18:30

Yes we love our Tassimo vivy. Guilty environmentally unfriendly pleasure! I do wonder if we should have gone for a nespresso as you can get compatible capsules in more places.

We buy cadburys hot chocolate and L'or Americano pods, add our own fresh milk.

Anyone got the Dolce Gusto machines?

Redisthemagicolour · 12/12/2017 21:12

I've got a tassimo and a Dulce gusto!

Originally had and loved Dulce gusto. Personally I love the cafe au lait coffee which only uses one pod so you get 16 in a box rather than 8. Hot choc is good too.

I fancied a change and got a tassimo. More choice of drinks but BIG disappointment in the coffee. Didn't like any. Costa ones do no taste like costa! Annoying small cup sizes too. My Dulce gusto is manual but I prefer than to a pointlessly small cup that I have to top up!

In the end we got another Dulce gusto. Kept the tassimo as dd likes the Oreo hot hoc but I thought it was a big disappointment and am more than happy to have the same machine as my original one back again.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 12/12/2017 21:14

Tassimo here. We didn't like the Dolce Gusto products.

My only complaint is that the drinks aren't hot enough for my liking. It's dreadful for tea.

Petalflowers · 12/12/2017 21:15

We’ve been through the various machines, and given up, partly due to,cost (and partly because the machines broke). My dh now uses a Bodrum cafetière.

I couldn't really justify spending £4 on eight cups of or coffee or hot chocolate (50p a cup). It may not sound a lot, but it soon mounts up, especially if there lots of you using it. He now buys better quality coffee etc, which works out cheaper.

Sorry to be the voice of doom and gloom

Middleoftheroad · 12/12/2017 21:17

All of the Tassimo hot chocolates are disgusting: Cadbury Oreo Milka....vile. Their creamers are hideous.

fedupandnogin · 13/12/2017 06:55

Confused now! Was going to get someone one as a present. I know everyone has different tastes so opinions are going to differ. BTW I was totally against these types of machines too due to the the costs of each cup and the green issue and happy with my old fashioned coffee machine and sometimes a cafetiere. Just thought it would make a nice present for (hard to buy) someone.....

I'd be a bit wary of buying it as a present unless you know they really want one as you are committing them to the ongoing purchase and disposal of pods, I think it's the sort of present you need to check out with the intended recipient first. I do agree that that model is compact and very easy to use, but I am really unimpressed by the drinks themselves.
