Boring thread alert - Airing cupboards

We don't have a tumble dryer, so washing is always dried either on the line or on radiators. Once dry, everything gets folded up and put in the airing cupboard. It doesn't get particularly warm in there though, so my husband always laughs and says what's the point, we may as well just put the clothes straight away.

The simple reason I do it, is because that's what my mum always used to do.... but is my husband right? Am I wasting my time?

Haven’t got an airing cupboard so couldn’t do this even if I wanted to!! My Nan does this though. My Mum doesn’t but she’s always had a tumble drier that I can recall.

It does sound a bit of a waste of time. If the clothes are dry, they are dry, just put them away in the drawers.
I did once work for a lady who insisted every item of the baby's laundry was ironed, even bibs and muslins, then aired off on a clothes airer for 24 hours before putting them away.

Nanny - thanks - I hate it when he's right thoughWink

Ironing bibs & muslins, wow, what an enormous pain!

I love my airing cupboard, but I only put not quite dry things in there generally. Anything that's well aired already goes straight into drawers. Or at least, in piles ready to be put into drawers...
