Shower door help!

My shower door is ridiculously hard to clean.. i have tried so much stuff.

Bathroom cleaner, window cleaner, wipes etc..

I think I'm going through an early nesting stage because I am desperate to sort out all these rooms.

I need to redecorate it (we've been here 5 years and I don't know when it was done before!)

Does anyone have any magic remedies for cleaning a glass shower door?

Also the plastic wall stuff we have, I can't seem to get that clean enough either.

And! The taps and handles seem to have gone a bit limescale-ish so any ideas about them? Usually I just clean those with antibac wipes but I'm not sure if that's just ruining them now

Hoopla was £2.99 in B&M incase anyone was wondering! I got it for the children but it's actually really fun!
We also have a basketball hoop haha!

Housemate foaming glass cleaner for the shower door. I have the same one and it works brilliantly.

And I have just read on here that the magic erasers work really well on taps so I am going to try that today!

Wire wool is good. I use it with a bit of conditioner to stop it scratching the panes, though have also used it "neat". Better than any cleaning product.

If you want a product then Sainsbury’s own brand lime scale remover is the best I’ve ever found, we live in a really hard water area.

stuckfornames · 10/12/2017 12:04

@LemnisKate I've just ordered that, hopefully it does the trick!

And will ask DH to pick up some magic erasers tomorrow!

I hope so! It’s also good on windows too if, like me, you’ve never mastered the art of cleaning them without them looking worse than when you started.

stuckfornames · 13/12/2017 18:37

The stuff arrived today and I'll be trying it out tomorrow! Surprisingly excited!

Excellent. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

Viakal and then use a squeegee after each shower!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 13/12/2017 21:01

Viakal - the stuff is brilliant on limescale and I live in a very hard water area https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B004P1403S/ref=mpssa113aa_it/259-0568825-4026964?ie=UTF8&qid=1513198804&sr=8-3&keywords=viakal&dpPl=1&dpID=41144RZqrdL&ref=plSrch

Once you’ve got it clean of limescale invest in a karcher window vac and clean and dry shower once it’s been used. It takes next to no time to hoover off water once you’re done in shower, it might help prevent the build up in future

specialsubject · 14/12/2017 11:49

I've just bought a window vac and I am evangelical about it. Really does suck up the condensation. And the mucky scaled shower screen has been sorted; I sprayed on limescale remover, scrubbed, rinsed and then used the window vac.

also use the limescale remover for the taps (anti bac wipes won't do it). Don't leave on too long. The Sainsbury cheapo remover is just the same as viakal.
