We've just had our loft converted, and the old landing ceiling was replastered as they'd cut a hole to get the new loft stairs in.
We noticed this week that there is a crack on this ceiling, not huge but you can see it and the edge isn't 'flush' now (about an inch around the edge is metal - which has been plastered and painted - so it's just inside this that seems to have shrunk?).
We spoke to the builder today and they said it's normal, that it will happen over the first month, and that we will have to fix it (with plaster).
Is this normal?! I feel it should be their responsibility (especially as we've paid £40k for the loft to be done!) but they said as it's not 'structural' it's ours!
