Floor tiles ingrained with years of dirt

Yuck yuck yuck! Envy I've moved into a very mucky house and discovering the years of ingrained crud on the kitchen floor tiles has put the tin hat on it Sad

I tried scrubbing with a scourer last night but it took half an hour to do two tiles and was absolutely knackering.

A colleague suggested I hire a steam cleaner. Is there one that will clean, disinfect and dry in one go?

Could I also use it on solid oak floors? I imagine they have their share of crud on them too Envy

A decent grout cleaner (look at refiews on Amazon) and scrub with a nail brush then wash off?

Elbow grease.

Spray it on, hot mop it off. It's magic.

There's a Facebook group for stockists etc

Have you tried a magic sponge (melamine sponge).

Works absolute wonders on my kitchen floor tiles and grout. They get daily abuse from dirty farm wellies and dogs.

You an buy it cheaply from Amazon.

I wouldn't use it on wooden floors though. Too abrasive.

I have the same problem with a large tiled area. Magic sponges and all types of cleaning solutions are rubbish (I've not tried the bicarb/vinegar ideas yet). The only thing that I've found that works so far is scrubbing; about 15 minutes per tile and there are roughly 400 tiles 😣. I'm going to borrow PPs idea of getting a scrubbing brush drill fitting.
