Clothes still dirty after washing

Hi,
I wondered what detergent you use? Generally my washing is fine, however my dd school shirts can still smell of BO even after a boil wash and my ds football kit is terrible. Any ideas/suggestions welcomed

I add a drop of zoflora. Other than that, bio washing liquid, any old brand.

Are your loads too big? I just use a bog standard supermarket non-binding at 40 and don't have any problems. Occasionally I add vanish.

Non-bio I mean!

I also wonder if you are overloading, or not using enough detergent?
What about applying a bit of laundry liquid to the stinky areas before washing?

You might need to run some washing machine cleaner through the washer on an empty cycle. I use a dr Beckmann that I get from Home bargains.
I think there’s a homemade vinegar solution that you can use also, look it up on Pinterest.

Does your machine have a pre wash option?

Dettol laundry liquid goes in place of the fabric softener and is quite good at shifting strong smells.

If it's build up of sweat on clothes that's the problem try a sports wash such as Halo. It contains optical brighteners though, so if you use it long-term on coloured clothes they will fade.

How long is your cycle, it might be too short for the size if the load and dirtiness of the clothes. Also my machine has a water boost which I press if clothes are dirty and that makes a massive difference.

Also I would recommend powder over capsules or liquid which can clog up a machine.

soak shirts in disinfectant and soda crystals overnight then wash.

Couple of capfuls of white vinegar into softener tray. No stinky sports stuff and when dry they don't smell of chips either. 40 degrees any old washing powder ( usually what's on offer).

Have you checked to make sure it is actually heating up? Mine wasn’t getting things clean & was really smelly. I kept running 90degree washes & tried loads of different machine cleaners but belatedly discovered the element had gone so everything was being washed in stone cold water. In my defence, it’s a washer dryer so v hard to feel temperature through the glass and the dryer element is separate so that was still working. No errors flashed up & I only figured it out by regularly pausing the machine throughout a cycle and feeling the clothes - the water was freezing throughout.

You are probably putting too much in the machine and using too many quick washes. I although my clothes get clean on a quick
Wash they are so much fresher if I put them in a long wash. So I never quick wash eg bedding.

Also some stinky stuff needs a cold prewash. Particularly urine (2 year old
In my house). I think sweat might be the same.
