Oh is disabled and between looking after him and the children the housework is slipping am toying with the idea of getting a cleaner not sure we can really afford one. Just wondering how often I would need someone would an hour a week be enough? and what could I expect some one to do in an hour I'm in Lancashire so any ideas what I can expect to pay?

Hi, I'm a cleaner in the South East. I charge £ 13 @ hour. May be less where you are. I do a minimum of 2 hours, can't get an awful lot done in an hour. I would suggest 2 hours on alternate weeks if money is tight. Hth

I started with a cleaner a few weeks ago and she charges a little less than pp per hour. She has been coming 2 hours a week and hoovers, mops and dusts, cleans 2 bathrooms, makes my hob and sink shine and has a little tidy (nothing too heavy duty, our house is pretty clutter-free).

It's always a delight to come home on the days she's been!

We are a company and charge £15 plus VAT per person per hour, all our cleaners are trained and fully equipped, we are fully booked but others still have places in our area.

Cleaners cost £10-12 per hour near me (south east). 2 hours to clean a small 3 bed house. Agree with pp that two hours fortnightly might be better than one hour a week. If you can find a friend nearby who would also like a cleaner every other week it might be more appealing to the cleaner as she can give you the same slot.
