Regretting the Zanussi washing machine I just boughtou

I received delivery of my new Zanussi Lindo 500 washing machine today. I told the sales assistant that speed was the most important thing for me. A 40 degree wash takes nearly 3 hours. It has a quick button which reduces it to 2 hours but what the hell? My 6 year old machine was quicker and I only changed it as I thought a newer machine would be quicker. Any one have one? Am I missing something?

I've the Zanussi Lindo 500 for about a month now and I really like it. It is so much quieter than my old Bosch. Yes, it does say something mad like 3.10 hours when you start it off, but because it weighs the washing and does other clever stuff, that time will go down much faster. This morning it said 2 .20 hours for a dark wash, but when I looked 10 mins later, it said only 1.20 hours.

I found shorter washes today. I find it very noisy and my god the beeping. It also spins to it’s side by the end of the wash which hits off the dryer. I wish I had gone for Bosch.

The Bosch is pretty much silent when it spins. I like a lot about it but find the dryer a bit shit. Washer dryers in general are rubbish compared to separate ones. I really loved my old zanussi. On the upside, it lasted me over 10 years!!!

I find ours dries really well. But you're right i have to keep checking it's on its so quiet.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/11/2017 14:37

bubbly is this the bosch or the zanussi you are saying this about?
I put less than a 5kg load in to cupboard dry and it took around 2 and a half hours and came out damp!

happystory · 05/11/2017 14:42

My Bosch has a function to disable the beeping. Which I did pronto!

The Bosch.

Modern washing machines are a lot economical than the old ones. It may take more time for the new machines to finish a cycle and generally Zanussi is an old one and if it's not getting the job done there are a lot of good brands out there. I have a samsung machine and it works great. Been using it for 2 years now.

My new Hotpoint Ultima takes a 9kg load and on Fastwash takes 35mins at 40°. You can adjust spin speed and temperature.
I love it!

moonmaker · 09/11/2017 21:53

Can you do a 30 min wash and add extra spin ?
Or can you put it on a timer the night before to come on a few hours before you wake up ? They’re all slow now , I’ve just learnt to have mine on a timer

dotdotdotmustdash · 09/11/2017 21:57

My new Samsung Ecobubble has a daily wash (30,40 or 60) which takes 63mins and a 15 min quick wash at 30 which seems to wash the clothes fairly well. If I use the quick wash I just put it on for a separate 12 min spin so it still only last 27mins.

It’s the Zanussi Lind1000 drying problem. I can’t get the clothes or towels to dry. The timed dry cuts short by over 3 hours. Can anyone help an old man? Sorry about my gender.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 11/06/2020 22:37

I have a Bosch...i use the 60 minute wash for everything except clothes that just need freshening up...i use the 15 min quickwash for that...i would be really annoyed waiting 3 hours for a load to wash.
