Roomba/robot vacuum cleaner questions

I hate hoovering with a passion. DH used to do it all when we both worked full time. Now I do most of it as I work part time, but not very often as I hate it! I am sure our house would be cleaner if I had a Roomba or similar. Does anyone have the Roomba that goes back to charge itself then carries on? Does it work okay? How do you work with upstairs/downstairs? Can you move it about day to day?
Also the eufy ones seem quite well reviewed and a bit cheaper, can anyone share their experiences?
Want to gather some evidence to convince myself and DH that it's a worthwhile purchase for us!

Eufy and Neato are great products. I've seen good reviews. Will basically check these and hopefully get one on sale.

Just seen these comparisons which is helpful as most consumer reviewers have just bought one for the first time...

EUFY wins - but it is comparing the Roomba 650 @ £370 vs Eufy 11 @ £199 - so the E wins on value?

Might also order the EUFy and do my own test -- as long as I can send it back - need to check the small print...

I think a Eufy Robovac will probably be the one I'd go for but it's not cheap.
Really pleased to see this thread because I had been considering this before and none of my friends have one.

I looked at the Eufy, but while the initial reviews on Amazon were good, they were often updated with grumbles about reliability

We've got a cheapo Vileda one and with nothing to compare it against I'd just be able to say it's OK...

It hoovers up most of our dog hair but isn't as good as our proper Dyson (which picks every single hair up) and it gets stuck on one area of raised carpet we have - like a mat.
It also gets stuck under furniture sometimes so I never bother with it in the living room but usually just use it in the hall where the hair shows up more.
I don't use I every day. Every time I use it it needs emptying. I put it back on charge after every use so it's always charged and hasn't run out mid run yet.
It has three room size options which might help? I just stick it on M most of the time.

If we could have afforded it, I'd have gone for an all singing and all dancing one which emptied itself out and mixed me a drink at the same time...but this one is OK and keeps on top of it! Smile

hedwig. I noticed this as well, initial good reviews but then grumbles about them not lasting, etc. Think I will pay a bit more for a roomba.

Brilliant! I have just ordered the 605 referred to on this thread, and the other one linked to by Hedwig. Looking forward to much less hoovering! Thanks everyone.

I would never get one as we have a dog.

I have read more than one description of the horror that is a Roomba which encountered a dog 'accident' and spread it across the entire house ...

I have cleared up after a few dog D&V incidents and it's bad enough when it is in one small location. I think I'd have to burn the house down if I had to deal with a Roomba'd version.

We have a cat so I only set the Roomba off when I've done a check of the room and locked the cat out so there can't be any accidents like dead mice trapped in the brushes.

So I don't leave it programmed to go on while we are out.

To clarify, I have ordered one roomba, based on info in two threads! Will report back.

Received my 605 at the weekend and am loving it! We don’t have a dog at the moment but think it’s best left locked on its own in a room and left to get on with it.

Just popping back to update, I've had mine around a fortnight now, and I love it! My floors have never been so clean, it even gets into the edges and corners, which I wasn't expecting. It spent so long under DS's bed I thought it was stuck, but came out full of cat fluff, I guess that had been there a long time Blush
Here's to a much cleaner house, thanks for the advice everyone.

Yes had mine about 2 weeks - it has revolutionised our house - none of the back breaking hoovering - house gets hoovered everyday. I just put it in a room, shut the door and go out. Picks up loads. Really good value for £200 - the newest model are £800 and just have extra "tech" which I dont need - apps to programme from work etc....

Looking at a Roomba 805 read a review www.vacuumkoo.com/roomba-805-review/ and with so much choice of robot vacuum's now available it's confusing, to say the least.

I'd go with your roomba 800, weve had the 860 and we're very happy with its suction power. Until such time that we had to lay it down to rest, lol. I hope this can narrow your choice down. lol. We're now using a different Roomba and well, it is still loud as usual, but it cleans good.
