Dirt killer for tiles

I have tiles in my kitchen and living room that I'm sure have years of dirt of previous owners engrained. It's almost like there's a layer on top of them. What will clean them effectively? I have a baby crawling around now and I want to make sure the floors are as spotless as possible. They look clean but they're not. Even after bleaching if I rub a tissue on the tiles dirt still comes off

No advice - but following!

We put a new kitchen in a year or so ago, and was our first time choosing tiles. Went against parental (sensible) advice, and got some lovely Laura Ashley ones. Should definitely have sealed them or put a lacquer on them. They seem semi porous and now in need of a good cleanse before we try seal them.

Nothing seems to cut the mustard

Honestly, the best cleaners that I use for grime is bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. When we moved in to our house, the (very old) extractor fan above the cooker was actually furry with grease and dust. Soaked in bicarb and vinegar and it came up a treat.

I'd get a deck scrubber and spray the whole floor with vinegar, then sprinkle bicarb over small sections and scrub it.

Really? Well I have bicarb and vinegar in the cupboard. What ratios do you use? Great advice, thanks

I use a 50/50 mix in a spray bottle, but if I was doing a floor like yours I would just spray neat vinegar then sprinkle a bit of bicarb over small areas and scrub.
