Best toilet brush recommendations?

Just that really. I’d like one that is easy to keep clean and hygienic.

The ones we have now are in long white tubes and they’re turning rusty and frankly I feel they’re disgusting!

Thanks for any suggestions Smile

I just get the cheap 60p ones from Wilko and chuck them out and replace them every few weeks.

BuzzKillington · 23/09/2017 10:33
Grin

Toilet brushes are universally detested on here.

Pastacube · 23/09/2017 10:36

Agree with getting cheap ones and throw out Joseph have a new silicone one which may be better

Babymamaroon · 23/09/2017 10:38

60p sounds great so I’ll try to find a Wilko. Thank you!

And yes I know they are devil sent according to many on here 😂 the trouble is, with young kids who have questionable toilet habits, I need a brush to clean with bleach and just don’t fancy doing it with tissue and my hand.

I’ve toyed with going upmarket on the loo brushes lol but ones that are easily replaced just seems cleaner somehow.

Not so good on the environment though...

Asda do a good cheap white one with an extra brush on the sides that cleans under the rim. You've reminded me to replace mine.

Babymamaroon · 23/09/2017 10:41

Thanks Mayhew!

There are no good toilet brush's - your best option is to go for no toilet brush.

Chickpearocker · 23/09/2017 10:43

I have a simple human one from Lakeland, also their bathroom bin is very good.

Babymamaroon · 23/09/2017 10:44

notangel - what do you do and how do you manage? I’d far rather not have them...

I second the ASDA one! The little brush on the side is excellent for under the rim. Costs about £1

EcoCleaner · 23/09/2017 13:56

I don't get the loo brush hatred. We've got one next to all 3 toilets in our house. The way some people carry on about them, you'd think we used it as a wooden spoon between uses. I'd rather use a brush than put my hands down the bog.

We've got one in a tall plastic holder from Sainsbury's. £7 and it's very robust. Gets a soak in sterilising fluid weekly in the holder and comes clean every time.

HerOtherHalf · 23/09/2017 13:59

I use a plastic one (had metal but it leaked) and put disinfectant in it deep enough to cover the brush. The disinfectant gets washed out and replaced every week. Toilet brushes are only minging if you don't look after them.

VivienneEastwood · 23/09/2017 15:15

I use this it's brill, disposable pad for each use with blue cleaner in it. The pads are flushable too. You don't need to touch any key parts iyswim, a button on the stick clamps on the pad each time. I wouldn't let the children use it though as its a bit faffy for them.

ScrubbyGarden · 24/09/2017 10:44

Vivienne I very much doubt your water company agrees re flushability. Most are v clear that whatever the packet says, just loo roll and your... erm... personal contributions please. "Flushable" wipes etc cause no end if trouble along the way.

Isadora2007 · 24/09/2017 10:46

I get cheap one from Asda (59p?) and replace every month.

Mol1628 · 24/09/2017 10:47

Ikea cheap ones. They do replacement brushes as well.

NanooCov · 24/09/2017 11:03

After many years resisting one, I have the simplehuman ones and really like them. The heads are replaceable.

Babymamaroon · 24/09/2017 21:20

Thanks everyone for replying. Lots of great suggestions!

I got a looblade one which was expensive but works ok, and always stays fresh so am hoping will not need to replace it for a long time

ElmerFudge · 26/09/2017 17:17

I get them in IKEA or Dealz. Throw them out after a couple of weeks. Deffo wouldn't flush anything other than bogroll & organic matter (tee hee!)

I've got a wooden one. Keep clean, air dry under the seat then compost every so often and buy new
