Sorting laundry loads

I try to have a full load before I do the laundry but am finding it hard to decide how to group the following (especially as I have managed to cover everything in fluff a few times by sorting badly - the culprit could have been a cloth or fleece blanket):

placemats, bibs, teatowels, washcloths, polishing cloths, e-cloths, sheets, duvet covers, fleece blankets and towels

Also can any of these go in with ordinary clothes (eg sheets) to make a full load if they can't go with anything else on the list?

HELP!

I put bibs, teatowels, sheets duvet covers and towels in with anything else of the same type (white or coloured) never been a problem. Don't wash yellow dusters with anything you don't want to come out urine yellow.

What I think can go in with sheets:-
Cloth placemats, teatowels, (what are washcloths? Are they flannels? If so, yes), duvet covers, towels.

House cleaning stuff goes in separately in my house or else in with the dogs blanket (which is usually pretty clean tbh, not dirty, just used.) I put things on a short wash if I have a small load of housecleaning type stuff. The 30 degree wash or a wool wash, usually. Hth.

i would put all of the above in with clothes to be honest

bit NOT yellow dusters which will dye everything yellow!

I wouldnt put towels or flannels in with sheets as the towelling can make other fabrics go bobbly...

Am I the only person with 2 types of laundry - lights and coloureds? All at the same temp

don't use yellow dusters tho - use old shirts cut up instead

Have to say I split into 3 sorts - towels (which includes teatowels, flannels, other cleaning cloths), which I wash without using fabric conditioner (or just a little, occasionally), whites, and everything else.

margo1974 · 06/04/2007 13:11

3 loads for me - blacks whites and pinks! (That's what happens when you have 2 girls)

eidsvold · 06/04/2007 13:15

three piles - whites, coloured, house stuff - tea towels, bath towels, sheets etc.

hippipotami · 06/04/2007 20:53

3 piles, whites/lights, darks, brights.

I put towels in with normal clothes.

I do however was bedding seperately - always change beds and wash at 60 at weekends.
(everything else gets done at 30)
