Amazing hack for cleaning beige leather sofas

Just tried something on my beige leather sofa and wanted to share cuz it's cheap, easy and really effective!
My sofa is about 12 years old and ashamed to admit but I have barely ever cleaned it!! I have just got used to the dirty beige colour and kept meaning to get it sorted but other stuff kept taking priority. I got quotes for professional leather cleaning and all were around £150 but I don't have the spare cash or inclination to pay that at the - especially as I'm on mat leave pay!!!
So, I read somewhere about this 'magic sponge' so thought I'd give it a try! It's made by JML and got it from Tesco. You don't need any products - just water and perhaps a microfibre cloth to dry it off! OMG it's amazing!! I've attached a pic of one of the seats after cleaning half of it so you can see the difference! I feel like I've got a new sofa!! Most people say to use baby wipes etc which are good to clean up spills etc but not so much for a really good deep clean! Only thing is the sponge does disintergrate and fall apart but considering I managed to clean the sofa for the price of a sponge (£5 or £6 for a jumbo one) I think that's a bargain!! Highly recommend and sofa dries straight away!
Hope this helps some of you! :-)

Thanks I need to give a sofa bed a clean and have wondered what to use. Better do a patch test first I suppose.

I was told you can clean leather by mixing equal parts of water and white vinegar and applying with a soft cloth but I don't want to risk my sofa bed smelling like a fish and chip supper Wink

Yes I was told the same thing about vinegar and also about baking soda but both seemed a bit too much effort and potentially smelly as you say!! Honestly I can't tell you how good this sponge is - it's not abrasive either so won't damage anything! If it helps, I had two buckets of water - one to rinse off the dirt off the sponge and one to moisten the sponge again!
Hope you're as pleased as I am! :-)

They are slightly abrasive OP, but look at the result you've got. Probably only lifting off the dirt there! Have you got something to feed and protect the leather once you've finished?

Go carefully as the sponges are abrasive.

You were robbed though, they're in the pound shopsGrin
