Window Cleaning Help

Hi. My window cleaner disappeared maybe a year ago, I did a couple of cleans myself but the result was streaky and blurry and looked worse to be honest. Now they are horrendous. I was using a window spray from Tesco, but years ago I used to use warm water and vinegar. What do people recommend as I'm doing it today but want a good job as it's a real effort! For outside should I use something like washing up liquid? Thank you and sorry for the boring thread.

Lakeland do some microfibre cleaning cloths that you just use with water, and they really really do work.

For the inside zoflora and water in a spray bottle and a microfibre cloth. It's not strictly a cleaner but in this instance works really well as it has oil to help lift the grease and alcohol which makes it shine. The cloth does most of the cleaning really.

For outside, Stardrops and water. Less is more when it comes to cleaning windows. I would also invest in a squeegie (sp?) if you don't already have one.

Thanks! Seems it might be more about the microfibre cloth. Will have a look.

I find that the right cloth means that you don't need anything other than water. I don't understand the MN obsession with Zoflora.

For the outside I use fairy liquid, garden hose and a karcher window vacuum to dry the windows and bifold doors. Inside I use a car cleaning product from Halfords called 'fast glass'. It's magical! No smearing, no newspaper or weird concoctions. I have 4 sets of bifold doors.. I can do the whole lot inside and out in about 30 mins with no smearing etc..

Vinegar and scrunched up newspaper, or a microfibre cloth.
