In a bit of a muddle-how to prioritise

End of holidays plus being unwell and I've not got much done at all. Realised today I need to sort the mess out and get organised.
I have a one off clean booked for tomorrow for 3 hours but I need to sort things out today and work out what areas to ask the cleaner to prioritise to make the most difference.
Today I have
-done two loads of washing
-tidied the bedrooms
-organised the school uniforms and noted what bits are missing
-started doing the dcs medication boxes to hand in on first day back

I need to (I think)
-clean toilet, empty bathroom bin
-bit more tidying
-wash sofa and cushion covers (they desp need freshening up)

What else should I do before the cleaner comes and what should I ask her to do that will make the most difference ??
Thanks

Why do you need to clean the toilet before the cleaner comes?

Tidying up yes, are the children's rooms vaguely tidy?

Ummm. I guess the thing that would be most useful is the thing you don't like doing/ is most noticeable. Ifyswim

Tidy, bung stuff in the machine to wash but let the cleaner clean.

I just feel a bit bad someone else having to clean my toilet ! Or emptying the bathroom bin that's all. I thought if I did thatvmyself it would be better.
Kids rooms aren't great but aren't terrible either.
Was thinking of asking the cleaner to hoover dust etc obviously but I just wondered if there's anything I can ask her to do that'll make a real difference. We used to have someone regularly but it never made a huge difference I'm not sure whether to getbher to do a whole house once over or more in depth of 2/3 rooms ?

I think emptying bins is fine, and completely your choice if you want to clean the toilet (didn't mean it meanly) just surprised. If your paying someone to clean I definitely get them to do the whole bathroom. (That's certainly my least favourite job!)

The jobs I hate are:
Bathroom
Stairs
Mopping floors

What I think makes the biggest difference is getting rid of stuff. Walk round with a bin bag. Empy all bins and throw as much as you can. Get rid if everything off windowsill. This is where the crap accumulates in my house.

Kitchen, bathroom and floors properly (moving sofas etc)
Would change sheets, sort dishes, do bins etc myself
If she has time I'd get her to dust starting with the lounge Tbh though if all the rest were done, this would feel like a much easier job to do myself (rather than tip of the iceberg)

If I had a cleaner I'd get a deep clean of the kitchen and bathroom. I'd focus on tidying stuff up before they came so they could get in to clean. If they finished that and had time left it's whatever you like doing least/ needs doing most - cleaning floors/ hoovering floors/ dusting skirting boards cleaning light fittings or windows/ mirrors etc.

I have a cleaner every other week for 3 hrs

  • Before she comes I strip the beds and put them in the wash and lay out clean sheets for her to put on.
  • I tidy up so she can clean

-She cleans the kitchen/emptys bin will either clean the oven or inside the fridge if I ask.

-mops all floors and Hoovers living room

  • hoovers stairs/landing/bedroom

-dusts the bedroom

-makes the beds

-cleans the bathroom and mops

-folds the towels really nicely.

I love coming home to it being really nice and clean look forward to her coming!
