Do cleaners bring their own products?

Just that really. If you have a cleaner do they bring their own cleaning products, cloths etc or do you provide them? Presumably they use your mops and vacuums?

If you want them to they will, if not they can use your products. Generally the cost will be higher if they bring their own.

I have always assumed that I provide my own, and I tell them that if there is a product they particularly like working with to let me know and I will buy it. My cleaner brings her own cloths and gloves, but uses my cleaning products, kitchen roll, Hoover, Mop.

Mine brings her own equipment.
But my previous didn't and used mine. Either way is fine with me as long as they do a good clean

Mine bring their own except polish. I can't abide Mr Sheen on the wood and want proper beeswax polish.

Cleaners are supposed to use products provided by their clients as most people prefer stuff that they use regularly themselves. That aside, I've had two cleaners and they've both ended up bringing their own cleaning products as apparently my favourites aren't that good Blush

Also making sure you have a hefty supply of cloths and sponges on cleaning days is good conduct. Vacuums, mops, brooms etc are also provided for the cleaner.

DarthMaiden · 31/08/2017 21:16

I'm experience it depends. When I've used independent cleaners I've been expected to provide everything.

When I've used a cleaning firm (Molly Maid) they bring everything - products/hoovers/mops/cloths
Etc

The latter is much less hassle but you don't get to choose the products.

If they are operating professionally I think it best that they bring their own and have researched into getting the best out of each product and not cause damage to the materials of their clients home because they fully understand their own chemicals and equipment.

Some cleaners will use clients things, some will not, it all depends upon their model of service.

I do think it essential for cleaners to supply their own freshly laundered cloths though as client's cloths can be rather 'interesting' and is best to avoid cross contamination by using cloths they know for sure are clean. It's not a huge outlay and fresh cloths are the single most important thing that we supply to our staff for use in clients homes IMO. It makes a huge difference to the service level.

I don't let our cleaners use their own products as I don't like harsh chemicals and I want to have control over what gets used in my house.

Where I am, the agency cleaners come in a van with their own equipment, including vacuum cleaners and cleaning materials. The individual cleaners use the materials provided.

I'm a cleaner and work for an agency and also have private clients. When I work for the agency the client provides the cleaning products, cloths, hoover and mops. So I use all their stuff but I have to tell them what cloths to have as most of my agency clients never have enough cloths.

When I work for my private clients I take my own cleaning materials and hoover etc. I find that my stuff works better. I know what cloths to use and no one had a hoover as good as my own. Im fully insured and my hoover has been pat tested though. So if your cleaner is using their own materials check that they have public liability insurance.
