Can you please let me know what you use that gets out most everyday stains. I'm having to use stain remover on almost every wash for food stains, as my powder doesn't seem to do the job.

I find Ariel biological best for getting out most stains (I have a weaning baby who is also in washable nappies), however NOTHING seems to get out carrot stains!

Fairylea · 30/08/2017 15:36

Bold is very good but personally I find something do need a wash at 60 degs with vanish to get them properly clean (or a long soak in vanish if they can't hack a hot wash).

Idratherhaveacupoftea · 30/08/2017 15:39

Lidls own make, Formil. The biological powder one is brilliant

NotQuitePerfect · 30/08/2017 15:46

I read on here a while back that Ariel Bio Powder was the best to get rid of stains and keep whites white. Tried it, never looked back. It really is excellent. I don't work for them, honest Smile.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 30/08/2017 15:48

Sainsbury's own brand bio for whites, and bio for colours works well for me. The Ecover stain remover is surprisingly good too!

rabbit123 · 30/08/2017 15:55

Persil & Ariel Bio are my favourites, they seem to get everything clean first time whereas some others struggle.
Persil is also on offer on Morrisons at the moment for £6 for a big box

MusicToMyEars800 · 30/08/2017 15:58

I use the Ariel bio powder or 3 in one washing pods which are really good at getting out stains.
Also Daz is good for stains.

Mol1628 · 30/08/2017 15:59

Lidl or Tesco non bio powders. Lidl is the best but Tesco a very close second.

MessyBun247 · 30/08/2017 16:01

I always used Ariel bio but have recently been trying to switch to cruelty free products so having been using Tesco bio and find it very good.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 30/08/2017 16:33

I think soda crystals (is that what they're called? They're in a green bag) are the dog's for stains, to be honest. Either with or without washing powder, doesn't seem to make a difference. Dirt cheap too (pardon the pun!).

dementedpixie · 30/08/2017 16:38

I prefer Persil bio and buy it on offer or in home bargains where it is always cheaper. Re food stains: rub washing up liquid into the stain before washing

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/08/2017 16:41

Ariel Biological Powder.
Tried Persil recently (it was on offer) & it didn't get the stains out of DD's white socks & t shirts.
Back to Ariel & a little tip if the stain is tomato based, wet the stain & rub a little bit of the Ariel powder on it. Then put in the wash.
I luff my Ariel!

squirre1 · 30/08/2017 16:50

I think Daz is brilliant.

YouRat · 30/08/2017 18:36

Persil non bio.

Primrose06 · 01/09/2017 21:15

We have sensitive skin and dr suggested Surf years ago .I add stain salts for certain washes and use Ace for others.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 01/09/2017 23:57

Ariel bio professional. Get it from Amazon in a 13kg sack. It's way better than the stuff in the supermarkets.

e1y1 · 02/09/2017 01:29

For stain removal, Ariel is best bar none. On Which recommendations the Best Buy Biological powders are (in order) are Ariel, Formil (Lidl own brand) and Tesco own brand.

However, I also find Daz brilliant for stains even though it is a cheaper based product (basically a cheaper version of Ariel).

wiltingfast · 03/09/2017 22:38

ARIEL

I've tried LOADS Grin

So it's definitely true.

YorkieButtons · 03/09/2017 22:42

I also recommend Persil bio with comfort in the blue bottle the smell is amazing and is great at stain removal.
I have OCD and have tried absolutely everything under the sun.

Also the Ariel with Febreze is good.

WellTidy · 04/09/2017 14:09

Ariel powder in the big box. I used to use the Ariel liquid tablets, but my machine started to smell and I couldn't get rid of the staleness. I cleaned it using soda crystals and white vinegar washes, and have used powder since. It has made such a difference.

AllToadsLeadToHome · 06/09/2017 02:03

Lidl Formil powder, Surf powder (or liquid). Bold works but the 2 in 1 liquid makes the machine pong.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 08/09/2017 11:49

Liquid tabs will make any washing machine rank after a while, especially on a low temp wash.

Any powder will be fine, as long as you're on a (preferably) 60 wash but at least a 40. Forget the 30/15 degree stuff on the pack, my plumber told me they've yet to invent a washer that truly, properly works at such low temps. Ñot properly.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 08/09/2017 11:50

PS I do agree that Ariel is great, and smells divine.
