Help me keep my new oven clean

So i didn't care for my last oven as much as I should have.

I'm going to make much more of an effort to clean it but is there something I can use - particularly on the glass door to keep it looking good!

I think if you give it a brief clean each time you use it it'll pretty much stay clean.

You can buy oven cleaner sprays, just get in the habit of washing it when you do your worktops and dishes.

I don't do this, BTW. My oven is fucking disgusting. But I will do it. One day. When I get a new oven.

BlueDecor · 24/08/2017 21:05

Basically the only way to keep an oven clean long term is not to use it.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/08/2017 21:07

Brillo pad while it's cooling down.

gingerbreadmam · 24/08/2017 21:09

foil in the bottom and on one of the wonderful tip threads on here i read im sure i saw something about a bicarb paste on the inside. sure someone will come along soon and give you the low down.

Oven liners to catch any drips. Like these:

@KingJoffreysRestingCuntface 10 years of a dirty oven I have promised I would keep the next one clean.... taking bets how much it will last!

Get an oven liner.

wobblywonderwoman · 24/08/2017 22:36

Few tips - when cooking things like roast chicken, use the magic bags (poundshop or lakeland)

Buy an oven spray and clean each week (I do it on Sunday.. I am rock and roll like that)

Stick the trays/racks in the bath with boiling hot water and washing powdervor a dishwasher tablet or use the oven pride kits

user1494670108 · 24/08/2017 22:39

Use oven pride. Easy peasy

SelfObsessionHoney · 24/08/2017 22:42

Oven pride.
I did it today for the first time. I've never cleaned the oven. In three years.
The fucker is gleaming. It's like a beacon of all things beautiful. I have banned DP from using it for 3 days so it stays beautiful.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 24/08/2017 22:43

Oh how I promised to do the very same with my new oven. I even took a picture of it cooking first meal in all its shininess. Bloody wish I didn't obey manual and used oven liners now. Oven bags are great for some things but things like sausages come out ill looking.

I don't like my oven no more, it needs cleaning

ChevalierTialys · 24/08/2017 22:47

I just came for the tips Grin

RudeDog · 24/08/2017 23:15

I did oven pride the other one but I think it was beyond help

I really like it how you can actually SEE through the door - amazing

My oven is professionally cleaned every six months. Costs 40 quid. Inbetween those cleans I use an oven liner.

I literally have never cleaned it myself and it looks pretty good most of the time!

Mellington · 25/08/2017 21:20

Method general purpose spray and a metal scrubbing pad, its all I've ever used on my range cooker and it looks brand new, even after several years and lots of cooking!

I've never used Oven Pride or anything harsh.

Hulder · 26/08/2017 09:00

Professional cleaner. So much better than anything you can do.

Notso · 26/08/2017 09:10

Get a Gas oven. My old gas one never got as dirty as my electric one.
