Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of watermarks from a stainless steel sink/draining board? I've tried CIF cream cleaner, Method cleaner, vinegar, lemon etc. and I dry my sink and draining board after every use but to no avail - the watermarks just appear after 10 minutes.. HELP!

I recently used those magic eraser foam block things on my stainless steel oven front. It now looks so much better. I can imagine it doing the same for a sink. But I've no idea if you're supposed to use them on stainless steel.

I use neat bleach it comes up really clean and shiny.

Try using viakal.

Another thing that's worth a try is Astonish Oven and Cookware. Apply it with a damp sponge.
It's good for cleaning lots of stuff, not just ovens and cookware. I even use it on the shower door now and again.

Polish with baby oil, I use this for all stainless steel. My kitchen is gleamingSmile

A dab of Stardrops on a dishcloth will do it.

NannyR · 26/08/2017 14:25

I second the Astonish oven and cookware cleaner. I use it on my sink and it works so much better than cif. You think the sink is clean then use this and the muck that comes off is amazing.

IdoHaveAName · 26/08/2017 14:27

Why in hell would you put baby oil on a sink?

readyforno2 · 26/08/2017 14:27

Yep! Astonish, it's great stuff.
Brilliant for cleaning the bath too!

IdoHaveAName · 26/08/2017 14:28

Is the Astonish oven and cookware cleaner a liquid? Is it readily available?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/08/2017 14:28

Baby oil or any oil actually,is great for cleaning stainless steel.

Baby oil is fab for water marks on our stainless steel hob. I'm too lazy to care about the sink.

readyforno2 · 26/08/2017 14:38

It's not a liquid Ido, it's more of a paste. It's really good though

NannyR · 26/08/2017 15:03

The astonish cleaner is a pink paste in a small blue tub. I buy it at home bargains. You rub it on with a wet cloth, you only need a small amount,it lasts for ages.

didyoureally · 26/08/2017 15:07

Another yes for Astonish, it comes in a blue or silver tub and is fantastic for cleaning metal and other hard surfaces. I am pretty sure that it is not tested on animals either Smile.

Urglewurgle · 26/08/2017 15:13

In fast food type places it's an oil they use on the stainless steel cupboard doors etc. Or at least it was in the ones I worked in.

I think it was ajax powder stuff then an oil.

I use fairy platinum washing up liquid neat. Works great. Washing up liquid works great as a cleaner for most things other than laundry.

Ttbb · 26/08/2017 15:47

Scrub clean with baking soda. Then rise it all away and finally dry it with a microfiber cloth.
