photos - what to do with them?!

So most of our recent photos are all digital so they're stored on the computer which is fine.

My problem is my old children's school photos and pre- digital snaps.

What do you all do? I am drowning in them and feel weird about chucking them out!

Thanks.

I print my photos once a month and I collage them in a photo album so never just have digital copies x

Thanks- I don't think I'd have space or the time. Lovely thing to do!

I went through my old photos and binned the duplicates or anything that was not meaningful and I didn't want to keep, then put the remainder in a nice box that I keep on the bookshelf. I don't look at them regularly but wouldn't want to part with them as they are meaningful.

I've heard of others scanning each photo then discarding the physical copies but it seems like a faff and I'd never look at them if I done that

Scan them in and keep the digital copies wherever you keep the rest of your pictures on your computer. Get rid of the physical copies.

I do try and print my pictures regularly and have lots of photo albums but I do a lot of photography in my spare time so I'm a bit of an album addict Grin I appreciate that most people probably couldn't be bothered to do that.

So, I went through all printed copies, kept the nicest, threw away the rest, the ones I kept I organised in to nice albums and label on the front of the years/ big events.

I back up digitally all the pics I take and want to keep every few weeks. At end of year the nicest pics of the year get ordered and put in a photo book.

If they don't mean anything to you you can chuck them. It's tricky as mother's can often be in charge of storing the whole families 'just in case' stuff, but your grandchildren may like to see photos of their parents at school. Equally they may not! Or shove them in a box in the loft so they can be the future generations job to organise.

We are having to majorly downsize so I am going to scan the nice ones, destroy the rest and have the scanned ones in my digital photo frame.
