Everyday wooden worktop cleaning.

I've just had a new kitchen with lovely wooden worktops.

What should I use for my every day wipe down type cleaning? In old kitchen I used Method multi surface. Would that do the job?

I had wooden worktops for years. I am the queen of wooden worktops. The secret is to keep them well oiled. Hmm This is ironic since I have another thread going about damage to a wooden table. But with my worktops I used flash. I don't think it matters what product as long as you keep the tops scrupulously dry. We learnt the hard way when dh left 4 wet glasses out on the wood overnight & we instantly got 4 black rings. They had to be sanded out. Thereafter I religiously kept the worktops oiled and bone dry - no probs. If your tops are varnished you'll have less worry.

As Bloggi so rightly says oiling is the key to perfect worktops. Osmo top oil every 3 months and Method spray keeps the looking lovely.

As PPs have said:

Keep them dry. We have a (dry) microfibre cloth lurking at all times, wipe up water and spills, don't leave metal things a long time - rings will arrive
Osmo Oil. Once the water stops beading it needs doing again
Purple Method Multi Surface. Says for wood among other things. Is eco.

Had ours three years and still nice, enjoy.

Thanks. We discovered Osmo Top Oil after DH had a very bad reaction to Danish Oil.
I use Method spray anyway so I'll stick with that.
