Am I the last person on earth to discover the wonder of Zoflora?!

So I've recently been converted to using Zoflora as a surface spray. I got myself a squirty bottle to dilute it down and I'm happily spraying every surface in the house. What other miracles does this stuff perform? Top tips please!

No, I haven't discovered it yet. It has a faint whiff of wee.

Cleanermaidcook · 27/07/2017 13:07

I always associate it with wetting the bed coz it was the only thing that got rid of the smell on the mattress when my eldest used to regularly wet the bed (years ago)
I believe it's very popular now, no idea what they do with it though.

RatRolyPoly · 27/07/2017 14:13

What is it?? I hear about it all the time on here and just assumed from the name it was some sort of addition to your laundry that makes it smell like flowers... but surface spray you say? I'm intrigued....

Uglymug76 · 27/07/2017 15:18

Use it like you would a dettol surface spray in the kitchen or over the sink, loo in the bathroom etc. 400ml water + 1 capful of Zoflora = 10p for a bottle of surface spray!

They have a Facebook page - I've just joined it for tips

Gowgirl · 27/07/2017 16:24

Wipe down radiators with it the scent is released when warm

wobblywonderwoman · 27/07/2017 17:53

Put some in your toilet cistern or a good bit of it into a pack of baby wipes to clean surfaces. Rose is horrible but pink grapefruit is the best - fresh

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 27/07/2017 19:14

Rose is my favourite!!! I save it for best!!!

Metellaestinhortobibit · 27/07/2017 19:47

Get on the fb page Zoflora Addicts Grin
Lots of tips there....this week they've all been mopping their carpets!

WildCherryBlossom · 27/07/2017 20:01

I wipe down my kitchen surfaces with Method spray (currently Rhubarb - better than it sounds, really!). It disinfects as well as smells amazing. What's the advantage of Zoflora?

Uglymug76 · 27/07/2017 20:07

They have a Facebook page?!?!?!😍

Ooh wild I have become addicted to method Rhubarb,, having read about it on here. It is currently on offer at Tesco!

squirre1 · 27/07/2017 21:42

Mopping carpets?! How? Does everyone mop carpets?Hmm

WildCherryBlossom · 28/07/2017 04:33

Thanks Greenandchives - I'll be hot footing it to Tesco!

mamasiz · 28/07/2017 04:49

MIL uses it. It smells absolutely rank.

DarthMaiden · 28/07/2017 04:58

I love it - well I love certain variants. Jasmine is my current favourite. Pink grapefruit is also lovely.

I use it as follows:

  • Diluted as a surface cleaner
  • in my steam mop to clean floors and also refresh carpets
  • sprayed on pot pourri to refresh it
  • in the washing machine (one cap), its brilliant with DS's sweaty sports stuff
  • I spray it on my dishcloth to keep it germ free
  • I've sprayed the inside of smelly trainers to freshen them and kill the bacteria

I love it, but you do need to choose the best scent for you. Some smell very artificial and have a chemical twang to them.

I'd recommend getting a mixed pack of different scents to try out and see which you like.

FlipflopsOrWellieboots · 28/07/2017 05:06

Soak kitchen cloths in diluted Zoflora before washing them....

Floor mopping....

Likewise in smelly sports kit washes...

wowfudge · 28/07/2017 07:20

@RatRolyPoly it is scented disinfectant. Available in lots of different scents. Makes cleaning, etc a bit more interesting.

19lottie82 · 28/07/2017 13:43

It is quite good, but not really any use for cleaning, just disinfecting.

wowfudge · 29/07/2017 14:15

Good for damp dusting and I sometimes use it with e cloths or an e mop.

Loopsdefruits · 29/07/2017 14:33

I wouldn't want to be disinfecting everything in the house, that's excessive and not actually all that healthy, germs are necessary. Using it as a kitchen cleaner is one thing but disinfecting the carpets, the laundry, spraying it just for the scent.

There's an interesting article on why overusing antibacterial products is actually unwise www.scientificamerican.com/article/strange-but-true-antibacterial-products-may-do-more-harm-than-good/

I believe antibacterial ingredients are actually 'restricted' in the US (at least in soap).

If you like floral scents then essential oils are quite nice, and can be used to scent things.

RatRolyPoly · 29/07/2017 14:47

I'm not one for disinfectants either to be honest, which is probably why is never come across this. I love a good detergent but can't remember the last thing I disinfected!

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/07/2017 14:52

I don't like it

AccrualIntentions · 29/07/2017 14:53

I used to love the smell of the citrus one until an unfortunate cat-weeing-on-the-carpet period. Now I associate it with cat piss. I've read there's an apple one though, might try to hunt that down.

Soubriquet · 29/07/2017 14:56

We got the pink grapefruit one today and I loooooooove it.
