Steam mop help...

I've been undecided about this for a while now and could really use some help please :)

Should I buy a steam mop?
Do you rate them, and why?
If so, which one?

6m old dd and 2 indoor cats.
Hard flooring (wood/laminate/vinyl) throughout home.
Mouldy shower tiles /grout in ensuite shower room - I have allergies and asthma so like to avoid strong odours / chemicals where possible, so an alternative would be welcome.

Thanks all.

Any does imo they all work the same. Although some use distilled water rather than tap.

You still need a mop and bucket to clean just use the steam mop to sterilise.

They're bloody brilliant for the handheld bit for tiles. You need cloths to wipe and they're the only thing I've used that lifts pee from vinyl floors properly. However they're very time consuming when doing kitchens and bathrooms but the fresh none chemical smell is so worth it.

You can't use them on wood floors though if I remember right. I don't on mine.

Thanks gamerchick Smile

I like the sound of it. Will it clear black mound from grout and tiles?

I hadn't realised you still need to mop before using the steamer. I thought this did the whole job. So that's something else to consider.

That's helpful, thanks.

Anyone else got any tips?

Use a bleach spray like detol or astonish to clean the mould off your tiles/grout. It bleaches them back to white.
I have a steam mop and I only ever use this to clean the floors..I never thought about mopping first lol I do spray abit of floor cleaner down first though
