Heritage range cookers

Hi
Had anyone got a Heritage electric range cooker?
I'm researching ranges at the moment as my kitchen is cold in the winter and think a range might be good although the price is putting me off. The Heritage looks like an Aga and seems to be more or less the same sort of cooker but a lot cheaper. Would I be paying more for the name with an Aga? Feedback appreciated.

Hi, did you get any answers?
I’m thinking of getting a heritage to replace my old Rayburn. I’ve visited the factory and I like it, just waiting on some exploratory works on my chimney before I decide.
What I haven’t found yet is anyone who has one that can tell me what they’re like to cook on.

Bowerbird5 · 12/10/2018 20:20

No, I haven’t but I have just ordered a Everhot 110i. It is cheaper than an AGA to buy and they say it is cheaper to run. We went to a cooking demo which was excellent and you got to eat everything made.

I have an old Rayburn which AGA stockist offered me £1500 off if I chose the AGA. Some colours are cheaper than others. I was tempted and if I could have easily fitted an oil one I might have. We dot have gas and DH won’t have solid fuel as we have a multi fuel stove to feed and we are getting older. So electric AGA against Everhot. No need to have it serviced every year either. Lots of colours too.

Okay thanks.
I need an appliance to do the ch and water as well as cook.
I’ll keep looking for someone who has a heritage.Smile

In that case the Everhot is no use. My multifuel stove in the sitting room does CH and hot water. Good luck with your quest. Don’t forget that you will get a trade in price for your Rayburn so might make some difference in price if you want another. I also found that there are some bargains around the country and I felt there was a bit of haggling room.

I had a look at them online yesterday. They look good I hope you have some response soon.

Thank you

I need to replace my old Rayburn with a new one too. My Rayburn does hot water, heating and cooking but because it is 35 years old the boiler is so inefficient and expensive to run so I need an upgrade. @Bowerbird5 which stocklist was it that offered a trade in price for my old Rayburn? Thanks

Bowerbird5 · 29/11/2018 19:03

It was AGA I was offered £1500 and they hadn't even seen it. If you go onto some of the stockists in the north they seem to have AGAs and Rayburns at reduced price for certain colours.Great if you want that colour or maybe sway you. I think it is because they want to restock a newer version. There were some at Skipton. He has a huge show room and he is very knowledgeable. I think there was a black one at Kendal or it may have been at another stockist in Yorkshire. It really is worth checking online.
So far I am loving my Everhot and my kitchen fitter has fallen in love with it too. I have half the kitchen in and the Everhot is now in it's right place.Initially it was in the middle of the kitchen because is beat the plasterer here by arriving at 8am when we thought it would be about 1pm.
Someone took my Rayburn as it was gone when i came home on Tuesday. We don't know who!

welstorcaroline · 29/11/2018 22:57

I’ve ordered a Heritage now, my old Rayburn is ‘limping’ along for its last winter.
The Heritage was much cheaper and in my opinion a nicer design, inside and out, I liked the boiler configuration.

BlackBagTheBorderBinLiner · 30/11/2018 17:20

We bought an oil second hand heritage 12 years ago, had it overhauled in the factory.
Love it.
I do an Aga' course for inspiration every now &then feeling smug that the burners mean the oven temp doesn't 't drop when you use the hot plates.
Ours also runs the underfloor heating and radiators.
I use aga oven trays.
The Aga non stick us awful and customer service rude.
2out of 3 aga stacking saucepans are ok (leaky rivet on one) I'll transfer the flat stacking lids to another brand next time I buy.
I've cooked on a few agas on holiday and I really, really prefer the Heritage.
Any questions?

Hi I know this is an old thread but hoping you guys could help we have recently purchased a second hand Heritage 3 oven range (oil) and contacted them to install and were blown away by their quote of £3000 plus VAT on top. This is to site and level on a base provided by us and insert a balance flu and vent, (new oil pipe to wall supplied by us), Comission and service any parts required will be at an additional cost , our heating engineer looked at this and was also astounded by quote as he has just supplied and installed for us a brand new central heating boiler top of the range and 3 new radiators for under £3k , he advised us to contact heritage and ask for a break down costing of works quoted which we did and they were extremely rude and refused quoting that's the price take it or leave it it's an old cooker(only 5 years old and has only been used as a display model ) and they will not service and commission if it istalled by another engineer . I was shocked as when we visited showroom they were so helpful hence why we chose heritage over an Aga . Maybe this is an appropriate cost , AGA engineer Quoted £1500
Hope you can help ?

I’m thinking of buying a Heritage and would be interested 8n your thoughts

RobinsonXmas · 28/12/2019 10:38

After remaining loyal to heritage engineers for many years we switched to a local guy. Halved the cost and a very good service. The rare part needed is available off the shelf.
Love the cooker & boiler, great design, still very efficient. The local oil engineer liked it to.
