Double Oven vs Single & Warming Draw

Morning

We've ordered the kitchen cabinets built to take a single oven, microwave and warming draw. Looking at the cost of warming draws (circa 450 for NEFF, which is our preferred brand for the rest the purchases), it seems exhorbitant for something that will largely be used to warm plates.

Thinking a double oven might be a better option - as you have greater cooking options. However, what I am concerned about is that the min oven temp (50 deg think) seems high if you just want to keep say vegetables warm while the meat finishes. Anyone use their oven to keep veg etc warm while they finish cooking or does it dry things out/over cook things?

Any help appreciated

I love having a double oven - have only ever had these though, so no experience of a warming drawer.

I do use the top smaller over for keeping food warm, and often if it's something that is already really hot, or something that I don't want to dry out, I'll tent it with foil and just put it in the top oven without even switching the top oven on. If the main oven is working at a high temp, the top oven is slightly warm inside anyway and this works for me.

Double oven for me.
And a microwave.
No contest.

Double oven always. If our main oven is on then the top oven is the perfect temperature for keeping things warm. Also it means your grill will be in the second oven, it is useful to be able to use the grill at the same time as the main oven occasionally.

Double oven. The small top one has a grill which can be used at the same time as the main oven. I do this most days. Also if just using the main oven, the top oven is warm enough to warm plates, keep things hot etc.

It depends how big the ovens are. We've got a double oven and if I have a chicken roasting I can just about slide some Yorkshire puddings in too but roast potatoes go in the top oven. If my main oven was bigger it wouldn't be a problem.

If you put stuff in to keep warm, as long as it's covered it won't dry out unless you leave it there for hours!

I have a double oven and would never go back to a single oven. The smaller one doubles as the grill. My parents got a new kitchen a few months ago and they have a single oven with a microwave that is also a grill or a small oven. I was a bit dubious at first but it is growing on me, but I still prefer my double oven! We both just use one of the ovens on low to warm plates or to keep a dish warm while finishing meal prep and it works for us.

Double oven here too. We had our kitchen fitted last year and we chose all neff appliances. Really pleased with them. As pp says top oven will be a little warm if bottom oven is on anyway. We bought an oven grill micro combo as our top oven and it does everything perfectly. Saves counter space too. There is also a function for hot air but can't remember the heat for that.
