I have just been quoted for mouse control £400-£800 by rentokil depending on whether i want to see dead nice or not.Seems excessive. a local company quoted £90. I want to go with them as they were much more informative.
I WILL GET A CAT
but have 5 month old, about to go on holiday and getting some renovations done so need a temporary fix.
Mice are running around in broad daylight- Am freaking out as can't find info on what actually happens if baby sucks a mouse pee saturated cushion cover.

so what are people paying for pest control?

At certain times of year the field mice try to come inside for warmth where we live. I can't stand the little critters and was worse than useless in helping DH deal with the problem. He tried traps and we have two cats already but what sorted it out in the end was a few of those deterrents you plug into an electrical socket. They emit a noise that the nice can't tolerate so they keep away. It's not audible to the human ear though so completely non-invasive. Haven't had any mice since.

thanks Just,
We put those in yesterday I suppose I was just wanting to know what people are paying rentokil around the country as I think it's a bit of a con.

I don't know the price of professionals, but I do know the price of DIY mouse eradication and feel that the higher amount is an absolute rip-off.
