Need a new cooker - freestanding or built in?

I've bought a house whee the vendor installed a new kitchen but left the ancient freestanding gas cooker. It's hopelessly slow at cooking anything and I need to replace it. Eg a frozen pizza took an hour at gas mark 9!
The kitchen was from benchmarx kitchens and I could add the extra unit's to make a new oven built in ( problem is the kitchen currently has those end panels around the old freestanding oven, or I could just buy another freestanding oven.
I'm not much of a cook really and am veggie so the oven is for baking cakes and heating pizzas really. I am staying long term in the house though. .maybe 20 years. Would people recommended a freestanding or built in? Gas hob but should oven be gas or electric? Is a double oven useful?

Electric and built in. Double is best or single and built in microwave above works well. I have that combination, but I have another oven. If you are grilling, it takes up the whole oven if it is a single. There are lots of examples of great built in ovens, but do buy a high quality one. Look for one that can be cleaned easily and is solid. Lots of oven settings are not really necessary, but basic functions that are easy to use, with clear controls, should be a priority. I like my oven to be eye level and the hob is elsewhere. This makes cleaning and checking on food easier and definitely is better for grilling. I don't want to sit on the floor like they do in Bake Off.

Underneath the oven I have draws for ovenware and roasting pans. In the cupboard above, I keep my breakfast cereals! My sister has a stand alone and cleaning the sides of it where it slots in is a pain. There is also no storage above or below. Personally I like my induction hob, but others do like gas.

Thanks for replying. My last oven in old house was electric built in and had pyrolytic cleaning so.might see if I can go for the same here. ..it's just the thought of having to deal with a kitchen fitter doesn't really appeal, a freestanding one would just involve getting the shop to fit it...
I need to do much more research!
