What can I use to clean/ degrease a cooker hood

any suggestion it's stainless steel if that makes a difference

Cif make a stainless steel spray - very good!

Soapy water, rinse, dry, polish with glass cleaner.

I use HG grease away for cleaning my cooker hood, this is seriously powerful stuff and will remove even the toughest grease stain.

Aldi Orange kitchen spray works a treat on grease.

Soda crystals are great for anything greasy. They just sort of cut through / dissolve grease. And they don't create foam or need much rinsing. Great things.

Method kitchen cleaner is brilliant at degreasing, smells lovely, no toxic chemicals & really nice to use.

Soda crystal solution with fairy liquid mixed in. It comes off immediately and smells fresh.

Sugar soap. Dirt cheap and works really well.

Was going to suggest sugar soap too. I might do mibe tomorrow. And my cupboards. They are pretty disgusting!

Are the filters metal? If so they may go in the dishwasher. Use sugar soap to clean the rest of it.

I use oven pride.I put all the racks in a bag with the solution,then what's left I normally rub the rest of the solution around the inside of the oven and cooker hood.i use warm soapy water to wash off.

method contains quite a few toxic chemicals, like all cleaners. Be careful of greenwash!

having just had to clean up some serious skank, sugar soap is marvellous stuff and costs a pound a bottle. Don't drink it, it is also toxic.

for the metal filters - put in a plastic washing up bowl with soda crystals, cover with boiling water, leave for a few hours. Rinse and repeat. Only run through dishwasher at last stage as your dishwasher will end up really smelly otherwise.

all apart from water are toxic in sufficient quantities. And of course the old dihydrogen monoxide is the most dangerous chemical about. At least you can drink that though.

I really can't stand eco babble, especially on over-priced products in plastic bottles. All the plain pack stuff - soda crystals, bicarb and vinegar does a good job without wasteful stinks added.

Best thing in the world is a steam cleaner. Amazing results, no grease sticking and no wrecked hands from sugar soap. Mine was about £20 in B&M. Also used to clean the bathroom and rest of the kitchen.

(And of course dihydrogen monoxide is also toxic if infested in sufficient quantities... )

I'll be carrying on using method - it's effective, non-toxic in the quantities included, easy to clean up when it's done its job, & smells lovely (unlike other commercial cleaners I've used in the past)
