Rancid clothes ugh

DS has got a part time job in a fast food restaurant, he's on the fryers but his clothes stink! I've tried soaking them in hot water and fairy washing up liquid then in the machine with ariel and zoflora but they still stink! What am I doing wrong

Help!!

My DS is a catering student. His whites smell of food but they're not great I put white vinegar in on the final rinse x

Thanks that's a couple of things to try, yes he just smells greasy like rancid fat it's horrible

try bicarbonate soda with your next wash.

Maybe a dribble of washing up liquid in the prewash compartment? Not too much

Soda crystals are said to help with greasy stains and less than £1 a pack worth a try.

ds should soak his clothes in bio powder + cold water.
then wash with bio powder at as high temperature as possible, ideally 60 degrees)
vinegar in conditioner drawer
then he shojld hang them
up to dry ideally outside

if he's old enough to work he's old enough to do his own laundry

My ex worked in a kitchen and his whites were similar. He found the hottest wash they would tolerate (so I think a 60) and bio powder would help. don't ever leave a bag of them in the car though, stank to high heaven

Hottest wash. Add bicarbonate direct to the drum, use the prewash function and extra rinse. Use washing powder, not liquid and LOTS of it. Use blue lenor fabric conditioner.

I used to work in a chippy when I was a teenager. My dm would soak them in bio powder and cold water overnight as soon as I finished my shift then put them in a hot wash in the morning.

The only reason I remember this is because she made me quit the job as she was getting so fed up with the laundry and paid me to do chores round the house instead (I was only 14).

Yesterday I discovered what my problem is, my machine isn't heating up!! I've got to get a new machine today

And I don't see what's wrong with doing my own sons washing

I'm sure I'll be doing my sons washing when he's 17, and no doubt until he's a lot older too. It's a lovely motherly thing to do. Your son is working and earning himself some money so it's not as if he is lazy. You keep on doing his washing for as long as it makes you happy.
