White body, black arms...whites/ lights or darks?

I have a few cotton tops with white/ light body but dark/ black arms. Which wash should I put them in, esp black/ white combination?

I'd put them in a light wash myself, to prevent the white parts from going really grey. However I might wash them by hand first time round to check the colour doesn't run.

Dior, never heard of a colour cathcher sheet, do you get them in the supermarket?

I remember buying a navy and white striped rugby shirt from M&S that said on the label 'Wash dark colours separately!' I used to put it in the light wash, but I agree it's a good idea to check the colour fastness first - you can do it with a damp cloth & an iron.

I put them in the light wash, not the white wash.

I tend to think that if the colour ran in these, that the "light part" would be ruined no matter where you washed them; therefore, they go in the "lights" wash on a low temp.

Incidentally, colour catchers are great if you accidentally run something. If you keep it wet and bung a load of colour catchers in the machine and wash again, it saves the clothes.

Worked for me once before when a navy paper napkin was left in a pocket and ended up in a light wash.
