Recycling water from condenser tumble dryer

Hello all

I have a condenser tumble dryer and I use the water for my iron but there is so much water. Any tips on what else I can re-use water for because it seems an awful waste just throwing it down the drain

I'm wondering if the dogs could drink it? It should be safe shouldn't it? When you think of what the disgusting beasts are willing to drink on a walk

My new iron specifically states not to use water from the dryer.

I wouldn't give dogs it to drink. It'll have a bit of fabric conditioner and washing powder in it surely. Or at least the chemicals from them. I wouldn't drink it so no way would I give it to an animal.

Actually on the thread linked it says the water contains fine lint. So don't give an animal it to drink. 🐶

You can use when filling up your car engine with water , I think it's supposed to be better than regular tap water.

how is it a waste to thrown down the drain as surely it will go back into the system to be cleansed? there must be tons of crap in dryer water

I would have thought it would have some residues of washing detergent and/or fabric conditioner too.

If you ever run the washing machine without clothes in to flush it out you will see just how much residual detergent there actually is. It isn't all washed out every time.

I wouldn't give it to dogs to drink. Detergents can be very toxic.

I tip it down the sink. It goes straight back into the system and is properly cleansed for re-use.

The instructions on mine suggested using water in a coffee machine! I won't be doing that.

Loo or plants would be all I'd do. Fibres, detergent residues and quite likely a broth of bacteria too, warm water sitting around with a trace of detergent in it would be the perfect breeding ground.

Bleurgh! I wouldn't be doing that either. I do love frothy coffee, but I wouldn't intend that to be soapy coffee.

I strain it and use it to make soap if I'm making it or I use it to soak dishes (we don't have a dishwasher).
