how long does your washing machine cycle take?

About to buy a new washing machine...have settled on the samsung addwash only to realise it takes a whopping 274 minutes!!! Who on earth has 4 hours plus to spare?!

Has anyone got this machine and can you adjust the cycle times for 40 degree cotton? Any others recommended that have a quicker cycle if not....

Thanks in advance!

More environmental as less energy/eat used. Plus you do really need a decent rinse cycle, if you shorten the cycle it's the rinse that suffers, which isn't great for sensitive skins.

Mine takes 2 hours. No skin off my nose but I also don't do ludicrous amounts of laundry (3/4 loads a week).

Heat! Not eat!

I have a Bosch, I've had it since July and am very pleased.
The 90 cycle comes up at 2hrs39 but using the Speed adjust cuts it down to 1hr39 and I find this is great for the whites.
The 40 cycle is 1hr03 so I don't bother to speed adjust on that.
The 15 minute 30 degree wash is perfectly sufficient for a few bits of coloured clothing.
I bought on a special offer so was restricted to the 1200 spin but it's really efficient - better than my old 1400 spin.
I have it stacked with the matching tumble dryer and in the 27 years I've 'house-kept' this is the best I've had.

I can't believe the length of these cycles,I'd never get any washing done!

Mine's a Miele and I mainly use the 30 min cycle and an hour cycle for whites.

The long washes are "eco" washes. By soaking the clothes for longer, they don't need to do as much work. That's why modern machines are quoted with energy ratings of A+, A++, A+++ etc. If you use the quicker cycles you won't get the same efficiency ratings.

We had a Bosch with a 40 minute wash that was brilliant. Have moved house and are renting and have a machine that takes for-fucking-ever. Really missing the Bosch!

E1y1, Ive got the same one. I hardly ever use the long washes and usually sth of about 1h does the job. There are som many buttons that you probably get over 50 different options altogether.
