How do I stop water gathering in my fridge?

We've tried poking stuff down the drainage hole and even (gak!) blowing down it. But water persistently gathers below the bottom drawer in the fridge.

Any top tips?

I have the same problem. Nothing seems to work. Hoping someone has the answer.

Get a new fridge.

Mine did this. I never found the answer. My new fridge doesn't. I think it was just old and knackered.

I've turned the temperature down in mine so the water freezes and doesn't collect so much.

Mines just started doing this in the last 2 months. At first I thought lemonade had spilt as we have a bottle rack on ours.

Peed off as noticed it just after the year warranty ran out.

What make is all yours? Mines a kenwood

Do you have anything right up against the inside back? Our old fridge used to gather water if anything touched the back.

Could you need the coolant stuff regassed?

Is it closing properly? Is someone standing and staring into it vacantly?

The water is (spills aside) condensation which collects from warm wet air getting in when the door is open. The hole is only really designed to deal with a few drips. If it's been hot/humid/the door has been open overnight I use a sponge/towel to absorb as much as I can and squeeze it down the drain.

Mine does the same. Seems to work fine apart from this annoying problem. Tried everything.

I want a new fridge but the husband says it still works so why waste money.

Can you turn it round and see if the water collector thing (drip pan I think it's called) is full. You may be able to remove and empty it.

It might be worth looking up the model and make online and seeing if there's a FAQ about this too.

Thanks so much for all the replies. It's a John Lewis of uncertain age as came with the house- doesn't look ancient. Will see later if we can get to the back- annoyingly it is fitted into recess between cupboards.

Nothing resting against the back of the fridge. Currently at 4 degrees and not keen to use up electricity keeping it cooler if avoidable. Will check JL online if any answers..

And yes think it closes fine and kept shut most of the time.

Mine also does this if anything touches the back, normally packets of cooked meats that slide on top of other things.
