Any recommendations? Have gone through 2 Minky airers in the past year and the mechanism to collapse it always goes. I can't bear chucking out this much metal and stuff all the time. Tired repairing with a bolt or similar and this never lasts long. Anyone have a good one to recommend? We live in a small flat so it goes over the bath, then is collapsed on a regular basis - so it gets a workout.

Is there anything in the Lakeland Ltd catalogue that suits your needs? Mine is from Lakeland but wouldn't be suitable for you, sorry.

Typical. Searched and searched and can't find my one online. I think I might have bought it in John Lewis, but they don't seem to do it online.

Anyway, this is the nearest to the type I could find. here That one is electric, but airers that shape seem to work better. The legs on mine fold under for storage and right out at right angles to stand it and click into plastic cups to keep the legs open. It means there is no stress on the metal parts when the heavy wet clothes are on it.

Mine is expandable by pulling the sides out.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but have never found those concertina fold ones any use. The weight of clothes always breaks them.

I bought a fantastic one last year from IKEA it is just like the old fashioned ones. I know everyones wash load varies but I can put a full load on it. When fully extended it is about 6-7 ft long as it has the open to put one or both sides up. The structure has a base which can also be used to hang things quite good for underwear and socks. Sorry I am not the best at describing things but I can assure you it is a good buy providing you have the space.

I've got one of the Sheila Maid type ones that hang from the ceiling. It's been great for 11 years so far.

Another vote for Sheila Maid - we inherited ours with the house so it's AT LEAST 8 years old and still going strong. Needs to be attached to ceiling joists so you might have to check with landlord if you rent??? Can take an entire load of washing and you don't get the drying lines you get with the plastic-coated metal driers....
