Just wondered what you use to descale your washing machine and kettle?

For my Kettle I buy Astonish descaler from savers, it's about 89p a bottle and I use a splash every fortnight. Washing machine gets a regular hot run with a good sluice of white vinegar. Towels also get washed with white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner to soften them.

Thanks where do you put white vinegar in drum or drawer? And how much?

I put mine in the fab con drawer and about an egg cup or thereabouts. I also sling it in the dishwasher to keep things shiny. I am a huge fan of white vinegar for cleaning.

I use this washing machine powder to descale my washing machine and use this powder to descale my kettle. Both products do the job-)

Soda crystals- these are dirt cheap. I put them in the powder drawer
on an EMPTY 90c wash every month.
My friend uses them in actual washes as well.

Live in hard water area and used to descale kettle every week, now only fill kettle with filtered drinking water and down to once a month cleaning. Best kettle cleaners for me are Kilrock or Waitrose essential range. Washing machine - use soda crystals in each wash and white vinegar for each towel wash then weekly 90 degree wash with soda crystals in drum and vinegar in fabric con drawer

White vinegar in kettle works instantly and is dirt cheap!
