Which non bio powder you use and like for cloth nappies?

Just that really- researching non bios to start using before baby arrives. Using method liquid at the moment but after 6 months I'm having very mixed results with about 3 in 10 loads coming out smelling stale and weird. Unfortunate as I like the company's ethics. Nappy experts are saying not to use ecover for cloth nappies.

Aldi own brand non bio. It's brilliant and we've started using it for everything!

A massive tub of Morrison's own. Works fine

Persil Non-Bio. The original and the best. Although you can still use bio on cloth nappies & baby clothes as long as you rinse well.

Does anyone also use mio sanitiser? Is it needed?

I use Eco stuff for clothes (bio d liquid- their powder is shit...) but ariel bio powder for nappies. The non bio for babies thing is based on nothing, even the nhs has changed their advice on that now! I also use the full amount of powder, shock horror!!
Check out the nappy science gang, they have been running some actual experiments on the washing of cloth nappies, some interesting stuff there.

Ps- I use bio d sanitizer if washing at 40, I don't like the mio fresh, it left my nappies stinky. I don't use any sanitizer at 60.

very happy using bio powder, actually.

Any supermarket own non bio is fine, the cheaper the better as they don't contain things like optical brighteners that can damage the PUL. I also used a scoop of MioFresh. You only use half a dose of powder and then do an extra rinse.

Thanks everyone. Re. Bio I thought it was not recommended as it degraded the cotton/ bamboo?

I never heard the degradation thing before. My towels don't seem to degrade in bio detergent. Tumble driers strip the cotton off of towels, fair enough.
