What do your family do with their bathtowels...

...immediately after using them? In our old flat the bathroom was directly off the kitchen so it was easy to just sling them over a chair. But in our new house there is nowhere immediately upstairs to put them and so they end up strewn all over the house sometimes all day because we're then all running about like headless chickens trying to get out of the house for school/work [

Hooks on the back of the bathroom door.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/07/2016 11:13

How do they not slide down the banisters? Confused

I have a rack on my radiator that it can go on. At home mum and dad had a towel rail in their bathroom and the three of us used the radiator and airing cupboard.

meowli · 02/07/2016 11:15

Dh and I put towels either over the bannisters on the landing, on the heated (only when the heating's on!) towel rail in the bathroom, or outside on the line.

Ds x3 - on their bedroom floor, furled up with their bedding or stuffed behind the towel rail in a big ball Hmm

lovemyway · 02/07/2016 11:17

We have a towel radiator which isn't on in the summer but DH and I put our 2 towels on there and our 2 DDs hang theirs off the hooks on the back of their bedroom doors.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 02/07/2016 11:20

Get some Command hooks. They are great because they peel off when you don't want them anymore but they can easily hold a wet bathtowel.

GlitteryFluff · 02/07/2016 11:26

We have a hook each on back of bathroom door. So once we've finished drying ourselves they just go back on the hook.
We've got ikea towels (they have a loop on them) so they stay on the hooks!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/07/2016 11:28

Peg for each person on the back of the bathroom door, so they can dry and are ready for next use. Theoretically. I am the only worst culprit for leaving towels around the house, in fact I am currently lying on a wet towel on the bed.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/07/2016 11:28

X post glittery!

We hang ours over a shower curtain rail, it doesn't have a curtain on as we have a shower screen but the rail is great for towels - out of the way and they get properly aired. I don't think our house is warm enough to dry them on a hook.

nannybeach · 02/07/2016 21:34

OH on the floor usually in our bedroom, me the airing cupboard to dry so they dont smell musty, in the winter on heated towel rail. Had a friend who changed her towells every day, thought that was ridiculous, because when youve had a bath or shower you are clean!

Iwantagoonthetrampoline · 02/07/2016 21:37

Electric free-standing heated towel radiator thing on a timer plug. Don't like having towels drying in the bedrooms and we have no banisters or airing cupboard, which have been the methods in previous houses.

Boozena · 02/07/2016 21:47

Bannister or radiator here too. Try to stick to radiators as sometimes it makes the bannister go mouldy.
I used to put them over the bathroom door like pp have said but the bathroom door swelled with the moisture Shock

tellmeofthetime · 09/07/2016 21:39

They get slung on the stairs that lead to the top floor where the tumble dryer / airers are. Whoever goes up next takes them and puts them in the dryer and when there's a few in I dry them for ten mins next time I'm up there. They go in the wash every few 'cycles'. DH uses white ones, I use navy blue, DD1 purple (uni ones home for the holidays) DD 2 pale blue

shitchef · 09/07/2016 23:07

We have a couple of those mini airer things that you hang over the top of radiators. They were a special from Lidl and cost about £3 each I think.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 09/07/2016 23:14

We all hang them over the radiator airer thingys in our bedrooms. We have the posh chrome ones (cost about £9 each so not that posh, it was a joke).
