Getting marks off brushed steel - any tips?

My tap's justa bit spotty looking. Doesn't go with the shiny sink . Don't think it's anything sinister, but I just can't seem to shift it. Any ideas on how to clean it up - it's quite heavily brushed steel, so is a bit ridgy and polishing it up with an e-cloth is having no effect.

TIA

Try the brilliant limescale remover spray from Waitrose - it's done wonders in my kitchen!

For chrome and chrome effect like my kettle and coffee pot I use Mr Sheen and a duster, mad I know but it's the only thing that shifts it. For my sink, I use a thing called Shiny Sinks by Homecare, from a supermarket and just happen to have buffed my sink up yesterday. All linescle is gone and with only a kind of halfhearted rub with a jiffy. Now I can do the Fly shiny sink game - as if!

Baby oil works a treat getting marks off steel !!!

Have just invested in an 'e-cloth' and they are actually very good.

Oh sorry, I've just read the bit where you said you've got an e cloth already and it's no good! Duh...

There's Cif Stainless Steel Gel - it's not bad!
