why are my bed sheets always crungy looking?

I am clean, dh is clean, we bith wear pj's but the bed sheets always have person shaped discoloured patches on them, more so on my side than dh's. I hate hanging them on the line cause I think the neighbours must think we never wash.

Sunlight helps keep whites white. Hang them out on the line. It won't be that obvious.

Do you use fake tan? Or loads and loads of heavy moisturiser, eg for eczema?

don't use fake tan but I do tend to have a coat of body butter post shower.

Long wash at 60 degrees in some bio powder will soon sort it out. If it's fake tan or anything like moisturiser that's greasy, add a table spoon of soda crystals to the wash

Wash Whites separate to colours or darks use bio powder on a 90 wash.

This ^^ will be the reason. Bio powder at 60 degrees and hanging out in the sun should deal with it.

No point using bio powder above 40 degrees... It kills the enzymes (bio bit). But hot wash with other 'brighteners' etc would be worth a go - and soda crystals!

The enzymes will still work whilst the machine is heating and then the brighteners and bleaching agents will kick in over 40 degrees

I doubt washing machines actually hit the temperatures they state, my oven is bad enough let alone something striving for an energy efficiency rating!
